The 2nd Area 4 Gathering to be held at Llandrinio Village Hall saw visitors enjoying 5 - 0 Gauge layouts, 1 live steam, 5 traders, 2 demonstrators and a loco clinic. All that as well as the Borders Model Railway Club 0 Gauge test track which was in action and a bring and buy stall. Teas/coffees, homemade cakes and sandwiches were being served too. Thanks to all those who came along and helped to make the day a great success.

It was the normal mix of Traders, Demonstrators and O gauge Layouts that for 2016 was in a new location. Both the halls were in use at this modern village hall.

A decent crowd of O gauge modellers saw some top quality layouts, and enjoyed some top quality catering !

In the small hall we had Ken Jones with Little Kidmore Wharf, complete with canal narrow boat. Opposite was Derek Mundy’s Bont Faen, also known as Cowbridge on the TVR, with a good selection of Welsh locos..

The main hall had the nicely presented American narrow gauge layout Megantic belonging to Bob Harper

Across the entire back wall was Iain Chippendale with the LNWR/LMS Chipped Lane, showing further developments.

Next to them was Jim Reed with the compact Muckton, showing the use of cardboard for loco construction as well as photoshopped buildings

John Doody brought along Queen St Goods Yard, to show with a quality layout, how costs could be controlled.

John Walker was demonstrating how to make wagon tarpaulins, and thus introduce some variety into goods trains.

Sandy Harper was wielding his soldering iron, building a brass loco kit.

Our Traders supporting the show were Premier Components, Amberly Services and of course Buffer Books.

Thanks to all the exhibitors demonstrators and traders for your support. We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did.

The sun shone, the visitors came and one of the attractions was the catering, very ably manned by Joan Mundy, Angela Walker, and Pauline May. Thank you Ladies for all the hard work, and Julie and Pauline for the baking.

Borders 00 layout Harbour Station was being exhibited for the last time this year. It attracted quite a bit of attention and praise from the public. Club member Simon was there with his own layout, Phil was demonstrating and also Julie and Kevin with Buffer Books. Thanks to Brian, Tom, Don and Hugh who helped on the day and also those who visited. Here are a selection of photos from the day, in no particular order, and although it may not like look it, steam locomotives were running too!!!

Our 00 layout Harbour Station was exhibited at this years show, but unfortunately didn't win the 'Best in Show' award this year. Club member Simon and regular visitor Gary were both there with their own layouts, and Julie and Kevin with Buffer Books. Thanks to all who helped with transporting and maning the layout and also those who visited.

Thanks to all those who braved the cold and icy weather to come along to our Christmas Show, and also the exhibitors, traders and club members who gave up there time to help make the show a success. Teas/coffees and homemade cakes helped to warm up and keep everyone happy. Some even got into the spirit and arrived in their own vintage transport.

0 GAUGE TEST TRACK RUNNING DAY 15TH OCTOBER 2014 - This running day was our best yet. More than 30 people attended, club members and visitors, who enjoyed their day out running their locos, having a chat with a cuppa and slice of cake/apple crumble and gaining skills at Sandy Harpers first 'teach in' session, followed by loco clinic where his skills and eyesight were put to the test with a slighly smaller sized loco than he's used to an 009 narrow gauge diesel shunter.

Our 00 exhibition layout was out for its first exhibition, all that hard work really paid off, the layout looked great, the Mayor thought so too as he voted it Best in Show! - Thank you to the chaps for all their hard work, and also big thanks to Simon and Brian for transporting the layout and standing up for 2 days keeping the trains running. Our other Simon was also at the exhibition with his layout Stoke City, Peter was there with the 0 Gauge Guild Stand and Julie and Kevin there with Buffer Books. We all had a good weekend.

BORDERS 0 GAUGE TEST TRACK DAY - 12th August 2014. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month we hold an 0 gauge test track day, where members and non members can come along and run their locos, have a chat and relax with a cuppa and a slice of cake. Buffer Books has a selection of good quality secondhand railway books there for you to buy or browse through. The 00 chaps are usually there too doing work on their exhibition layout which has its first outing in September at the Ellesmere Model Railway Show.

BORDERS 0 GAUGE TEST TRACK OPEN DAY - 28th December 2013. To launch our new 0 gauge test track we decided to have an open day, a low key affair with a couple of members layouts (Crowsnest & Montford) on display, along with the 00 gauge exhibition club layout we are building. Julie also had a selection of secondhand railway books

The 2 tracks on the 0 gauge test track (the 3rd yet to be completed) ran well all day and all visitors and members enjoyed the day. A good day and thanks to all who helped.
